Mission:

To provide youths the opportunity to learn, play and compete in pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country. Our goal is to provide a network for competition among kids that is affordable, accessible and most importantly fun for kids of all ages and abilities.

About Us:

Although Pickleball was invented in 1965 it didn't see a big spike in popularity until the last 10 years. The boom started with senior citizens but has now exploded among people of all ages. In fact the fastest growing demographic in pickleball is people who are in their 20's!!! Currenlty over 5 million people in the country identify themselves as pickleball players.

Despite the amazing growth pickleball has enjoyed in the adult community it has not seen the same kind of growth amongst kids. We believe that pickleball is the ideal racket sport for kids to learn. Some of the reasons for this include:

1. Fast learning curve-Kids and learn the game and be able to play games
                                     with other kids within hours of first being
                                    introduced to the game.
2. Accessibility/affordability
3. Social aspect
4. Development of eye/hand coordination that will carry over to other
    sports.
5. Introduction to the fastest growing sport in America. There will likely be
    opportunities in the future to play at the college level and beyond.
6. Family friendly game: Because of the fast learning curve it makes for a great family game.  Pickleball creates a wonderful opportunity for families to enjoy this sport for a lifetime together.
   
     
The NJPL provides kids of all ages the opportunity to compete at a local and possibly a national level. Our goal is to provide a network for friendly competition for all ages and skill levels.
